With the Nintendo Switch 2 slated to launch early next year, Nintendo continues to look for ways to ensure potential buyers don’t have to turn to scalpers to get their hands on the eagerly awaited system. Addressing shareholders, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa explained that the Kyoto-based company is continuing its plans to fight scalping by producing more than enough consoles to meet increasingly important consumer demand. He also said that other measures are being considered “to the extent that the law allows”.
“As a countermeasure against overselling, we believe the most important thing is to produce sufficient quantities to meet customer demand, and that idea hasn’t changed since last year.”
“In addition, we are also considering whether we can take any other measures, to the extent permitted by law, taking into account the circumstances in each region.”
