Metacritic has released its publisher rankings for major game companies during 2023, with Nintendo reaching sixth place this year. According to Metacritic, the Kyoto-based company released four “great” games last year, including Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo took the twelfth spot on Metacritic’s annual ranking of game publishers for 2022. If you’re wondering who took the top spot, it’s Capcom. Here’s what the site had to say about Nintendo’s involvement:
“Nintendo has re-entered our top 10 and released more titles than any other publisher on this year’s list. But despite the fact that four of those titles scored 90 or higher—easily the best of any publisher this year—Nintendo was held back from ranking any higher due to its relatively low 73% success rate, which was the lowest of any publisher that entered our top 10.”
