The best 3DS game

Winner: Fragrant story

Winning just because it is only The 3DS game released this year that we reviewed, Fragrant Story still deserves a look. It’s a quirky micro-strategy RPG that made waves for being the last 3DS game ever released in North America, and while it’s not the best strategy RPG we’ve ever played, it’s worth the punt as a curiosity more than anything else.

Runners-up: Hmm… hmm. Why not head over to the 3DS eShop and pick up some non-2022 winners before they become unavailable for purchase in March?

The Frog Fractions Award for ‘Best Bait-and-Switch Game’

Winner: tie

Oooooh, don’t just I like that when a game pretends to be one thing and then pulls the rug out from under you? We have, and that’s why we designed this award.

This year, the award is divided into three parts, with every third equally going to Inscryption, Tunica and Omori. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you why these games are winning, that’s all. WINK.

Best Game ‘No Thoughts Head Empty’

Winner: Dorfromantik

The Switch has always been a great place for games that let you zone in, and 2022 was a great year for it as well.

Our ultimate winner is Dorfromantik, a beautifully laid-back game about building pretty little village vignettes. can’t you just feel stress oozing from your bones?

Runners-up: A little left, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Railbound, Dragon Quest Treasures
