Nintendo has announced this morning that they are currently in the process of hiring for a variety of new animated projects based upon key Nintendo IP. The hiring spree as part of Nintendo’s new division, Nintendo Pictures. It is not clear which of the Kyoto-based company’s franchises will be given the animated treatment. Nintendo’s first project is the Super Mario Bros. Movie which is being handled by popular US animation firm Illumination and is due to be released worldwide in April 2023.
