We’re back with more interesting statements from Doug Bowser, president of Nintendo of America. This time they focus on a curious debate that has been generated recently.
Specifically, Bowser seems to have gotten into another debate after the one we brought you a few months ago. In recent months, Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser has shown his fondness for LinkedIngetting involved in various discussions. Recently, Bowser responded to a post by Professor Stephen E. Dinehart IV, who discovered that Walmart’s website was selling ROM hacks for the company’s games through third-party sellers. Dinehart tagged Nintendo and Bowser in his postto which Bowser responded by thanking the visibility of the issue, suggesting that Nintendo was already aware of the situation.
This situation raises questions about the relationship between Walmart and Nintendoespecially after several Switch game pre-orders were cancelled in recent months. While no official explanation has been given, the sale of ROM hacks on Walmart’s website could be a reason why Nintendo might be reluctant to collaborate with them in the future… We’ll have to stay tuned for more details.
