Nintendo's digital business is in bloom, the company recording a 71.8% increase in annual sales today's earnings report.

From April 2019 to March 2020, Nintendo's digital sales reached 204.1 yen (at the time of writing, this translates into $ 1.92 billion / £ 1.55 billion). Surprisingly, most of that money has been extracted from downloadable genre games.

Nintendo cites "strong sales of downloaded versions of Nintendo Swap installed software, continued growth in download-only software and additional content, and a contribution from Nintendo Swap Online throughout the year" as reasons for success.

The company's mobile business has risen steadily this year, with headlines such as Mario Kart tour helping Nintendo's mobile revenue reach 51.2 billion yen (up 11.5% year-on-year).
