The Nintendo Switch Online application will receive a new update later this summer and it will require iPhones running iOS 14 onwards. We are currently on iOS 15 and iOS 16 will presumably be released this September as usual. However, if you have an older iPhone the app won’t run, which will be problematic to some. The earliest device running iOS 14 is the iPhone 6S so if you have that or a newer iPhone you will be fine using the Nintendo Switch Online app.
Around the summer of 2022, we plan to update the iOS version of the “Nintendo Switch Online” app. This update will change the operating environment to “iOS version 14.0 or later”. Please note that the app will not be available on devices with “iOS version 13 or earlier”.
