Surely you remember that Nintendo has reached an agreement with Tropic Haze, the team behind the Switch emulator called Yuzu, following the lawsuit filed last week. The agreement means that Tropic Haze will pay Nintendo in damages, turn over the yuzu-emu.org website to Nintendo and cease distribution of the emulator Yuzu. Well, now there seems to be one more measure.
Nintendo Switch Emulator
This comes to us after the agreement with Nintendo that involved a payment of 2.4 million of dollars. It has already been confirmed that they will take their code repositories offline, disc ontinue their Patreon accounts and Discord servers, and close their websites soon. However, now Nintendo seems to have taken control of its main website.
The company has officially assumed control of the Yuzu web domain. From now on, the http and https versions of the domain will open to blank pages and it is currently unknown if Nintendo plans to redirect these pages elsewhere in the future.
Don’t also forget Yuzu’s initial response to the accusation and the prognosis of an expert lawyer on the subject. The original lawsuit alleged that more than one million illegal copies of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom had been downloaded before the game’s official release.
This was seen coming when we learned that Nintendo was looking for anti-piracy personnel. Nintendo sought compensation from damages for alleged violations and the closure of the Nintendo Switch emulator, something it has already accused in the past.
