During the Switch generation, Nintendo sometimes developed the odd title on a different engine. We’ve seen Yoshi’s Crafted World and most recently Pikmin 4 use the Unreal Engine, and now it looks like the upcoming release of Princess Peach: Showtime! it may also have been created in Unreal.

This revelation comes from a post on social media (shared by Akfamilyhome via X), showing the Chinese game box for Peach’s new game, and you can see the Unreal Engine logo on the back:

Note that Nintendo has not officially confirmed this at this time. We also don’t know the specific team behind this latest release. It was previously discovered Yoshi’s Crafted World and Pikmin 4 for Switch ran on Unreal Engine 4.

Princess Peach: It’s time! out next month March 22, 2024. In this new title, Peach must “save the show” after a stage performance turns into a terrible tragedy. Fortunately, she has abilities that allow her to transform into a swordsman, kung fu master, and more to deal with trouble in the theater.
