Creepy survival horror game Forgotten memories was announced for the Wii U back in 2013. The port never materialized, but it seems that developer Psychose Interactive has turned to the modern market as they announced that Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition will be coming to the Switch on October 28.
This remaster takes the base mobile game and gives it what appears to be a pretty substantial look. The upcoming release features updated visuals, new advanced lighting effects, a revamped score, gameplay improvements, and a new ‘Crazy’ game mode, among other tweaks. In short, if you’ve been waiting for it on Wii U, this will definitely be the best way to play it.
So what is it all about? In classic survival horror style, you play as a lone cop who gets caught up in a series of gruesome events while investigating a case. To solve the mystery, police officer Rose Hawkins makes a deal with a mysterious woman, leading her to a haunted house full of dark corners, ominous music and not-so-inanimate mannequins. It’s not a place we’d go for a casual evening, but to each their own, we suppose.
Pre-orders for this one open on October 25th. Along with the announcement trailer above, Psychose Interactive shared a comparison video showing the remaster’s improvements over the original release.
The first Wii U announcement feels like a lifetime ago, so let’s hope the remaster is worth the wait.
Will you be picking this up on Switch later this month? Let us know in the comments.
