The Pokémon in Palworld mod has made a triumphant return after a brief hiatus due to Nintendo’s DMCA takedown. However, this time things took a strange turn, adding a layer of humor to the gaming experience. ToastedShoes, the YouTuber behind the initial announcement of the Pokémon mod, faced a request from Nintendo to remove the video showing off the mod. Despite the fit, ToastedShoes recently revealed in a new YouTube video that the Pokémon in Palworld mod is back, albeit with a twist.
Creature designs in the mod are now specifically labeled as “legally distinct pocket-sized creatures”. In the video, ToastedShoes introduces viewers to the wacky world of Palworld, where players can capture these legally distinct creatures using Mason jars instead of the traditional Pal Spheres or red and white balls.
The mod, officially called “The Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack,” is once again available through Nexus Mods. Creatures on display include a vegetative turtle, a fire fox and even a toast-themed friend named Crouton. Namely, some Pals have no coincidental similarities to Nintendo’s intellectual property, adding a touch of creativity and humor to the mod. ToastedShoes humorously navigates its Palworld home, exterminating a creature called the Yellow Rat and introducing viewers to a visually absurd and diverse cast of legally disparate creatures. From a corpulent hen with a cheesy name to a boss named Saul Goodman accompanied by a Pal cease and desist notice, the mod takes a satirical approach to legal challenges.
Despite mixing art styles and concepts, the Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack offers a hilarious and fun twist on the Palworld gaming experience. At the time of writing, the mod is still available on Nexus Mods and Nintendo has yet to respond.
