As you may recall, last year MAKE A MIRACLE he drank. The reason behind it was to ensure id Software and Bethesda were able to deliver the "best possible experience" possible. The switchch version, unfortunately, was a big hit at the time, and the builder said it would announce the release date of this particular stadium in the near future.
While we didn't have a release date for the Nintendo iteration, in a recent interview, Marty Stratton's Software id talked about how the Switch release needed more time, for a port technician at the Panic Button to clean. This is exactly what he said:
It comes out shortly after the game has passed on the current consoles and PCs, and that is actually because we want to end the game on those platforms and give Panic Button – our partner in it – the time they need to really pull that off of the Switch version. It won't be too much of a delay, but we have yet to announce the launch time, but we are good partners. They are the masters of the platform.
As noted, it is not expected to be a "major" delay. Stratton has stepped in to convince DoOM fans that a new game on the switch will bring:
I've played games many times, but playing Switch all the way from start to finish is one of my favorite things. Having it held and mobile was a big thing. I think that's what we're going to bring with Doom permanently in all the same ways that Doom is pretty good on gen-current platforms … we're not very good at bringing it to Switch, and the Problem Button is still in a big way.
