How did we not notice? We already know which game includes new features regarding the previous version, and then the press after testing it confirmed some more. We are talking about the remake of Paper Mario: The Millennial Door for Nintendo Switch.
It was released on May 23, 2024. This time we can confirm that the game was rated almost a year ago for Nintendo Switch without anyone noticing. According to the German rating organization USK, the title was rated for release in June 2023, almost a year ago.
This is what is known:
- It’s not the first time Nintendo has rated a game so far in advance; Metroid Prime Remastered was rated eighteen months before its release on Switch.
- It’s possible that Nintendo planned to release The Millennium Gate earlier and there are other finished games waiting for the right time to be released.
- Speculating on Nintendo’s release strategies is interesting, although its inner workings remain a mystery.
