With the success of Kickstarter project for the arrival of The Wonderful 101 a Nintendo Switch and other platforms, there are many interviews, statements and reactions that are taking place. And this time it is a interview conducted by Gematsu in the PAX East 2020 to Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba, of Platinum Games.
Something interesting that we have been able to extract from this interview, is Inaba's response to the question about what that Kickstarter money is intended for
First, the money goes to the production of all resources … I don't know if you've seen all the levels and their rewards, but their production costs money. The rest of the money goes to the additional content that will be added to the game. All that costs money, and it takes time and work to port the game to the other platforms. I want to clarify that we did not campaign to "get money" or anything like that, that was not the goal. The main objective was to gather fans, measure interest and find a good way to play again and launch the game.
Another interesting question referred to the possible arrival of other Platinum Games games released on Nintendo consoles to other platforms
I really do not know. The fact is that many of those IPs are owned by Nintendo, we are just the developers. So you should ask Nintendo if they are willing to do so. It is not something that we really have control over ourselves.
What do you think about his statements?
