Top-down roguelike action game Metal Dogs is coming to Switch next year, but only in Japan, publisher Kadokawa and developer 24Frame have announced.
The game is all about three dogs — Pochi the Shiba Inu, Bell the Doberman, and Bonanza the Bulldog — who live in a post-apocalyptic world in which most of humanity is dead, and monsters rule the world. “Monsters” is a loose definition of your foes, since they include a giant tank called “Rommel Ghost” and an armoured rhino called “Missileceros”. Also, the dogs have guns.
Alongside a digital and physical edition, there will also be a “Woof-Woof-Woof Duffle Edition”, which comes with a duffle bag and a physical version of the game’s soundtrack, and a “Bow Wow Wonderful Edition”, which comes with a dog-themed tote bag, a limited edition box, and the CD soundtrack.
The base game will cost 3,900 yen (£26 / $34.50) in Japan, and releases on the 8th of April, 2022.
