Las Pokemon GO Immortal Raids is a term that the community has adopted to refer to a rather annoying bug.
The game has had to deal with a lot of criticism in recent months, including reports of problems with the recent Dark Raids. Niantic has improved its ways of not only reporting bugs, but also compensating players for inconvenience.
But the issue with Immortal Raids seems a bit more problematic than other bugs.
What are the Pokemon GO Immortal Raids?
The well-known “Immortal Raids” of Pokémon GO are those Raids in which an immortality glitch occurs, which can affect both the boss and your Pokémon.
When it happens to your Pokémon it is not something so serious. What happens is that the “fallen” Pokémon becomes invisible and can continue launching attacks, being in some way “immortal”. The downside is that the boss’s charged moves will go directly against your next Pokémon, which you can’t control.
But it becomes a major problem when the Raid boss receives immortality. What happens is that it is left with 1 HP, and there is no way to weaken it. Usually the player runs out of time and the Raid ends unsuccessfully, which has always caused annoyance in the community.
One player posted a video of how the glitch happens in real time:
Yup! Not just my account, but this happened to my friends account at the same time! One android and one iPhone. @NianticHelp is the biggest joke! Great job @PokemonGoApp @niantic pic.twitter.com/GVWcSvMUIy

Niantic acknowledges the bug and shares a “temporary solution”
The bug of the Pokemon GO Immortal Raids returned to a discussion in the community when a player complained to Niantic.
The NianticSupport account responded by saying it has received similar reports and offered a “fix.” This consists of restarting the game and reconnecting to the Raid, which should either take you to the victory screen or allow you to continue the fight. He also asked the player for their Pokémon GO information via private message, possibly to compensate him for the losses that include the daily Raid Pass, rewards, and Research progress.
Thanks for sharing, Trainer! We have been receiving similar reports during raids. If the raid was active, restarting the app and rejoining should have taken you to the Bonus Challenge screen. Let’s connect over DM so that we can get your Trainer information! ^TA

But this incident has only reopened the debate in Reddit
Some trainers claim that in a game of the caliber of Pokémon GO, this should never happen, let alone for such a long time. Niantic also hasn’t implemented ways to automatically recover used resources in Raids that fail due to a bug, which isn’t entirely uncommon.
Other players report that this supposed “fix” is actually only temporary and there is not even a guarantee that it will work. Also, it won’t help if the Raid is remote or has already ended, in which case you need to contact Niantic directly.
A group of players decided to firmly demand a solution to this error, stating that they will not continue spending money until they see the errors corrected. Pokemon GO Immortal Raids. In his words, this bug “has been around for years” and it should be time to fix it.
