Pokémon Company Cancels Various Store Events in Japan Like Coronavirus Cases Rise

As news emerges that Japanese schools should closing until April as a result of the recent outbreak of coronavirus, the Pokémon Company has it is said

that it will cancel a series of live events at its Pokémon stores across the country.

As of February 29, 2020, the following events have been adjourned until further notice:

  • Pokémon Bingo Party (All Stores)
  • Pokémon Mascot Meet-and-Greet (All Stores)
  • The Pokémon Mega Tokyo Renewal Commemorative Mascot Meet-and-Greet Center
  • Pokémon Center Kyoto 1 year Anniumph Mascot Meet-Sanoni
  • All Pokémon Restaurants (All Stores)

The company also said that Pokémon TCG events at Pokémon stores and Pokemon stores across Japan could also be canceled. However, it is important to note that all stores and facilities remain open as usual until further notice.

The number of COVID-19 certified patients in Japan increased more than 200 from Thursday evening.
