Pokémon GO Co-creator Niantic and The Pokémon Company today revealed that the first season of the forthcoming competitive game, GO War League, will launch on March 13.
The GO War League is set to allow players to compete in Trailer Battles against other players around the world, rising in rankings as they prove to be the best they have ever been. During Season 1, you will be paired with competitors who are equally rated through the online marketing program.
Three teams will be available – the Great League, the Ultra League and the Master League – and the mode format rotates between the three. As you win the battles you will climb the rankings, with each new rank offering a much wider reward for those who can get there.
The rotation schedule for this unit has already been allocated and is as follows:
- The Greater League (1500 CP limit) will start on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:01 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
- The Ultra League (2500 CP limit) will begin on Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 10, 2020, 1:01 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
- The Master League (no CP limit) will begin on Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:01 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
- All three categories will be available on Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:01 p.m. to Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:01 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
Naturally, this means the start of the Fight War League will end, but Niantic says this month's launch will benefit from renewal and development, including "changes to make the most important wins at startups and changes in prizes, including multiple Pokémon encounters, additional items for an avatar, and a special avatar pose ".
Some of those Pokémon parts include Legendary and Mythical Pokémon such as Altered Forme Giratina, Darkrai and Thundurus. When you get into your Pokémon GO battles, this sounds like a good addition.
