The Pokemon Company has announced that a brand new software update has been implemented to fix some of the issues with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet which admittedly didn’t launch in good shape. The massive new version 1.2.0 update for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet features a ton of fixes and changes that should result in an overall better experience for players, though specific performance tweaks aren’t actually listed in the patch notes, which you can read below.
Feature adjustments
- Additional features will be added for Pokémon boxes:
- From the Pokémon summary, players will be able to change Pokémon’s nicknames, tags, held items, and titles associated with tags or ribbons, as well as being able to change the order of moves, allow a Pokémon to remember moves, make a Pokémon forget moves, and use TM .
- Players will be able to exchange held items by pressing the Y button when in the Held items view.
- Players will be able to choose All boxes as you move Pokémon or items into Party and boxes view and Held items
- When in Combat team view, Pokémon in your boxes that have been assigned to a battle team will now have their icons displayed in a darker shade if those Pokémon are members of the currently displayed battle team.
- The news screen will be displayed when you go online from the main menu, just like when you go online from the Poké Portal.
Error corrections
Tera Raid battles
- A bug that can prevent an opponent’s Tera Pokémon’s HP gauge from correctly reflecting damage from certain moves (such as Play Rough) or certain status conditions may occur in Tera Raid Battles, resulting in abnormal fluctuations in the Tera Pokémon’s HP gauge. This will be fixed.
- A bug that causes all Pokémon on your side to pass out at once despite their HP gauges showing that they still have HP can occur in Black Crystal Tera Raid battles against the strongest token Pokémon. This will be fixed.
- An error that can temporarily prevent the player from making any input to the game can occur if a Tera Pokémon takes certain actions while the player is selecting the target of their move. This will be fixed.
- A bug that causes a communication error can occur when someone connecting to a Tera Raid Battle sees a Pokémon that is different from what the host sees on their screen. This will be fixed.
- A bug may occur that causes players who join a Tera Raid Battle from the Tera Raid Battles search screen to be brought to a Tera Raid Battle against a Pokémon different from the one they saw displayed. This will be fixed.
- Under certain circumstances, a bug may occur that causes Tera Raid Battle crystals to not appear for a certain amount of time. This will be fixed.
Battles
- Match types against Pokémon that have fainted will no longer appear when selecting a move or target during double battles.
- A Zoroark that has been Terastallized and disguised as another Pokémon via its Illusion ability can be identified as a Zoroark using the Check Target option. This is a bug and will be fixed.
- When Zoroark Terastallizes and disguises itself as another Pokémon via its Illusion Ability, move type matching is displayed based on the type of Pokémon Zoroark is disguised as, not Zoroark’s Tera type. This is a bug and will be fixed.
- Dondozo’s stats with Tatsugiri in his mouth will increase when Dondozo uses Order Up, even when the move should have been negated (for example, the opponent uses Protect). This is a bug and will be fixed.
- If a Pokémon Terastalizes after using Destiny Bond and then faints, Destiny Bond’s effects will not activate. This is a bug and will be fixed.
the rest
- We will fix an issue that may cause the game to force close in certain locations. As a result of this fix, there may be a reduction in Pokémon and humans shown in certain towns or in the wild.
- When a Pokémon that is not part of the Paldea Pokédex is obtained through Link Trade, it is displayed as registered to the Paldea Pokédex. This is a bug and will be fixed.
- Certain actions may cause the main character’s facial expressions to not change until the game is closed and reopened. This will be fixed.
- There was an error for some players after the first season of Ranked Battles, where visiting the Ranked Battles screen immediately after calculating the season results caused a communication error immediately after those players received their rewards. After this error, players could not participate in any further ranked battles. This will be fixed.
- If a player has created several Battle Teams but does not use a Battle Team in the first slot for their Ranked Battles, they may not receive a Master Rank Ribbon after winning Ranked Battles at the Master Ball level. This will be fixed.
- When a Pokémon you caught is returned to you from another player via Link Trade, it may not obey your commands according to what is written in the profile app (“Pokémon caught at level XX or lower will obey your commands”) . This will be fixed.
- The bug prevents the Pokédex from displaying additional entries (such as entries for Shiny Pokémon or Pokémon received via Surprise Trade from players playing in a different language) for Pokémon types that were already registered in the Pokédex. This will be fixed.
- Objects like Poké Balls can appear unintentionally in certain places on the field. This will be fixed.
- Bystanders will no longer appear during certain battles that take place in cities during the main story.
- Other selected bug fixes will be implemented.
