Today’s Pokemon Presents featured DLC news for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, one thing was not news about the new update. Unfortunately, some players are still experiencing issues with the game’s performance, and the Pokemon Company didn’t have much to say about it.
Well, it seems an update was planned all along. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been updated to version 1.2.0. The update patch notes also came with a message from Nintendo, stating that “with this update, we’ve added new features, new functionality for Pokémon boxes, and bug fixes that affected game progress, among other updates. We will continue to take your feedback very seriously and take action to improve your gaming experience.” You can see the full patch notes below.
Newly added features
- The Nintendo eShop page for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet can now be accessed via the main menu. For more details on The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, please visit The Pokémon Company.
- Trainers can now enjoy online competitions and friendlies in the Battle Stadium, and registrations are now open for the official online competition: Paldea Prologue.
- Players can now connect their games to Pokémon GO.
Feature adjustments
- Additional functionality has been added for Pokémon boxes:
- From the Pokémon summary, players can now change Pokémon’s nicknames, tags, held items, and titles associated with tags or ribbons, as well as change the order of moves, allow a Pokémon to remember or forget moves, and use TMs.
- Players can also now swap held items by pressing the Y button when in the Held items view.
- Players can now choose All boxes as you move Pokémon or items into Party and boxes view and Held items view.
- When in Combat team view, Pokémon in your boxes that have been assigned to a battle team will now have their icons displayed in a darker shade if those Pokémon are members of the currently displayed battle team.
- The news screen will be displayed when you go online from the main menu, just like when you go online from the Poké Portal.
Error corrections
Tera Raid battles
- The bug could prevent an opponent’s Tera Pokémon’s HP gauge from visually reflecting damage dealt by certain moves (such as Play Rough) or damage dealt at the same time as certain status conditions were applied, causing the Tera Pokémon’s HP to fluctuate in unusual ways. This has been fixed.
- A bug that caused all Pokémon on your side to faint at once, despite their HP gauges showing they still have HP, could appear in Tera Raid black crystal battles against Pokémon with the strongest sign. This has been fixed.
- An error that temporarily prevented the player from making any input to the game could occur if a Tera Pokémon took certain actions while the player was selecting the target of their move. This has been fixed.
- Errors can occur when someone joining a Tera Raid Battle sees a Pokémon that is different from what the host saw on their screen. This has been fixed.
- A bug could occur that caused players who join a Tera Raid Battle from the Tera Raid Battles search screen to be brought to a Tera Raid Battle against a Pokémon different from the one they saw displayed. This has been fixed.
- Under certain circumstances, a bug could occur that caused Tera Raid Battle crystals to stop appearing for a period of time. This has been fixed.
Battles
- Match types against Pokémon that have fainted will no longer appear when selecting a move or target during double battles.
- Fixed a bug where a Zoroark that had Terrastallized and was disguised as another Pokémon via its Illusion Ability could be identified as Zoroark by using Check the target option.
- Fixed a bug where move type matches targeting Zoroark that was Terastallized and disguised as another Pokémon via its Illusion Ability would be displayed based on the type of Pokémon that Zoroark was disguised as, rather than Zoroark’s Tera type.
- Fixed a bug where the stats of Dondozo with Tatsugiri in his mouth would increase when Dondozo used Order Up when the move should have been negated (for example, by an opponent using Protect).
- Fixed a bug where Destiny Bond effects would fail to activate if a Pokémon Terastalled a move after using Destiny Bond and then fainted.
the rest
- We fixed an issue where the game was prone to crashing in certain locations. As a result of this fix, there may be fewer Pokémon and people shown in certain towns or in the wild.
- Fixed a bug where non-Paldea Pokédex Pokémon would show as registered in the Paldea Pokédex after being obtained via Link Trade.
- Certain actions prevented the main character’s facial expression from changing until the game was closed and reopened. This has been fixed.
- There was a bug for some players after Season 1 of Ranked Battles, where visiting the Ranked Battles screen right after the season score was calculated would cause an error right after those players received their rewards. After this error, players could not participate in any further ranked battles. This has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug where a player might not receive a Master Rang Ribbon if they had registered several Battle Teams but did not use a Battle Team in the first slot when winning ranked battles at the Master Ball level.
- Fixed a bug where a Pokémon you caught might not obey your commands according to what was written in the profile app (“Pokémon caught at Lv. XX or lower will obey your commands”) if that Pokémon was Link Returned to you from another player.
- Fixed a bug where new information might not be added to your Pokédex after receiving a Shiny Pokémon or a Pokémon caught by a trainer playing in a different language via Surprise Trade if you already had that species registered in your Pokédex.
- Items like Poké Balls could appear unintentionally in certain areas. This has been fixed.
- Bystanders are no longer shown during certain battles that take place in towns during the main story.
- A number of other bug fixes have been implemented.
