And here we are with another edition of Box Art Brawl, a weekly battle between the regional variants of retro game boxes to find out which one you think is worth a gold medal in the looks department.
Last week the Super NES classic California: Dracula X it showed its teeth and started in a bloody war until the Japanese version prevailed as it smiled almost two-thirds of your vote. North America lagged behind and Europe was far third.
Today we return to Nintendo 64 no Zelda History: Ocarina of Time
A real ready sword …
Europe
Starting this week in Europe, we get a black background with a logo, here presented with bullion-like yellow-gold, with a cheek in the center. The traditional black border of this version works indefinitely here with the frame broken by the Master Sword in the logo. It's simple, elegant and with just a sword, shield and shiny logo, we know when we will get the famous ride, even if it doesn't reveal details. It probably has monsters and stuff, innit.
Japan
Aside from the game's logo colors (and the N64 stamp in the right corner), the Japanese variant comes with an abandoned, smoke-covered cover that includes a link with Epona located in the center.
This subdued model was impressive at first, though that wore off after a while and where we looked it became more open. It gives us a little more context for having an opponent in the box, but somehow it's only behind the invisible, flaming screen that suggests less about the game than the titles that adorn the other two examples. Not bad, but we love it a little every time we look at it. Let's move on then.
North America
The black and gold swap, the title symbol featuring the Hylian Shield and Master Sword gets its usual colors here in a simple cover that goes back to the same lashes Previous Link and Link & # 39; s Awakening DX (which used to have its own mirror). Red threads and decorations & # 39; Only & # 39; it only destroys the splendor a little, but it's big, bold and old-fashioned.
Bonus!
And as a small bonus with poly, here are the covers of the best North American and European releases Ocarina Time 3D on the 3DS. The Japanese breed was actually similar to the European varieties. Surprisingly, we Europeans managed to get our hands on the overpriced US box form with pre-order and other promotions during the launch, so we have been able to switch between using which one we chose (though it means we only have one empty Ocarina for -Time 3D case on our shelf.
So, three covers, but which one gets your vote? Look again, select your favorites below and then invest the Master Sword on the voting button to sign in the future:
All of this is the sum of this week! Let us know in the comments if there are any other games you'd like to download for your enjoyment, and we'll see you next week in another round.
