Original article [Thu 16th Mar, 2023 11:35 GMT]:

Players are reporting issues with the Switch version of Minecraft after this week’s version 1.19.70 update.

The problem was brought to our attention by a reader via e-mail, and via Minecraft subreddit, some players, after updating their game, cannot load Minecraft on Switch. The initial loading screen gets stuck at 66% and stays there indefinitely while the loading wheel just spins.

The ticket has been raised on Mojang’s website with a handful of images from those who encountered a 66% loading screen.

We looked into this and, while we were initially able to continue after updating and loading the game, after rebooting and trying to log in again, we were stuck at the same loading screen.

Some users have reported that closing the game, putting the Switch into airplane mode, restarting the console, and starting Minecraft while still in airplane mode allowed them to get back into the game. We also tested this method and were able to proceed by following these instructions. However, some players have tried this method and are still unable to play.

There is a possibility that this problem is not only related to the Switch version of the game. A few Xbox users said this too i can’t play minecraft after updating to the latest patch.

Mojang has yet to comment on the issue, but since the issue has been posted on the Minecraft website, we’re sure there will be a solution soon. We will update this article as soon as this is fixed.
