Getting one of these bad boys quickly became a big deal, but some customers reported that the highly sought-after controller was coming out of the box.
We’ve seen a few complaints about this issue in both Twitter and Redditwith some owners claiming that retailers can only offer a refund (not a replacement controller) due to low stock levels:
Joy-Con drift is something most Switch owners have experienced at some point in their lives — heck, we even know how to fix the problem ourselves these days — and even the excellent Pro Controller isn’t immune, drifting straight out of the box (or, according to some reports , after only a few hours of play) is by no means an ideal situation. Fortunately, there may be a quick fix to the problem that avoids having to send the device to Nintendo.
We are talking about updating and recalibrating. Several reports of TOTK Pro Controller drift seem to have been fixed with this very solution, which bypasses the long waiting times for fixes and the obvious risks of trying to fix the problem yourself.
To recalibrate your Pro Controller, go to System Settings, scroll down the menu on the left and select Controllers and Sensors. You’ll then want to select Calibrate Control Sticks from the right menu which will display a handy diagram of how your analog sticks are currently working and give you the option to recalibrate them by pressing X.
