VGC recently had the chance to try out a tweaked Epic Mickey Rebrushed during this week’s Gamescom event. While talking to staff at the booth, reporter Chris Scullion revealed that developer Purple Lamp is really hoping that Epic Mickey Rebrushed will change enough units because they’re keeping “everything crossed” that they’ll get the green light from THQ to start developing a remake for another game , Epic Mickey 2. Epic Mickey Rebrushed is out on September 24th.
“However, one thing is for sure – if Rebrushed sells well enough and shows that audiences are sticking around for this darker take on Mickey Mouse, Purple Lamp tells me they’re keeping their fingers crossed that they’ll get the green light to begin remaking Epic. Mickey 2. Based on what I played of Rebrushed, if Purple Lamp wants to make a sequel, then – pardon the inevitable Mickey quip – I hope THQ is listening.”
