Did you know that water slowly dries out after rain in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? If you didn’t, you’re not alone. A post over on the social media platform Twitter shared a series of screenshots highlighting how a certain area of the game looks over time, once a body of water has dried out.

Here’s the full tweet (which has generated over 13K Likes at the time of writing), courtesy of the Twitter account @DaysBotw:

BOTW SLIDES

2000 hours and I never noticed.– Mirria1 (@ DarkMirria1) December 31, 2021

Many players mentioned how they had “never noticed” this even though they had spent hundreds and thousands of hours exploring the game. This sort of attention to detail stretches to all areas of Breath of the Wild. For example, not long ago, we reported on how Link could get sunburned if he ran around shirtless in certain areas of extreme heat.

And while the game is packed out with all sorts of hidden features and mechanics, there’s also a thriving mod community pushing the game to new heights with all sorts of content – including expansions and more.

What do you think of this latest discovery sending Zelda fans on social media wild? Were you aware of this yourself? Leave a comment down below.
