We highlighted the wonderful scan work @KeshiCorner several times now on Nintendo Life. This is a retro enthusiast who managed to save the classic Zelda and Mario rubber “Keshi” figures with the magic of 3D scanning and now they are back with a new collection.

It’s an assortment of Super Mario Bros. figures. 2 from 1993 steals the spotlight this time, with five new designs including Birdo, Shy Guy, Ninji, Mouser and Wart. As was the case with previous Keshi Corner collections, these figures would be hard to find today, but their 3D scans are now available at Internet archive for home printing or more general preservation.

These figures could be found in Japanese capsule gachapon machines in the 90s, where they were made of semi-solid, unpainted rubber. The 1993 range, which coincided with the SNES release of Super Mario All-Stars, consisted of several re-released Keshi figures from previous collections, although the five most recently scanned were brand new — and the Wart and Birdo designs will even get fancy gold . – colored reissue three years later.

Super Mario Bros. Extras 2 are just the latest in a long line of surviving designs documented at YouTube channel Keshi Corner. In addition to the aforementioned Zelda and Mario figures, the scanning enthusiast has also captured designs from series such as Kirby, Puyo Puyo, Donkey Kong and more.
