It's better than this. Of course.
It's better than this. Of course.

It has taken a lot of time, and a lot to do with critical behavior and compromise, but Nintendo has finally launched the Switch in China in partnership with Tencent. However, the owners of the new switchchin company China has are very different from the rest of us.

As you can see in the image below @AndrewAlerts on Twitter, the Tencent Nintendo switchch in the Shop is less expensive when introduced, only New Super Mario Bros. You are Deluxe currently available in the digital store:

Now, NSMBUD is a great game but still! And here we thought that the switchch in the Shop locked for endless games was a problem!

Interestingly, the various differences between the Chinese version of the alternate switch around the globe have been documented as they were discovered, via Twitter account Chinese Nintendo to highlight some. For example, my Nintendo points cannot be released on the Tencent Nintendo switch, and games cannot be returned to the cloud, so those options are not on the menu:

It looks like the Chinese amiibo of China can be scanned without removing it from the package, though it is currently only three prices from Super Mario Odyssey wedding set available. We also noticed that the last amiibo we bought here in the west – Squirtle, if memory works – didn't have a thin film protector when we opened it, so maybe Nintendo has preferred that further:

It's really interesting to see the subtle differences caused by the Chinese restrictions around selling video games and systems. Follow @chinesenintendo if you enjoy seeing more of the Tencent switch, and thank your lucky stars for the switchch in the full jam shop in the west.
