One game we haven’t seen recreated or at least referenced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons yet is Rare’s legendary Nintendo 64 first-person shooter, GoldenEye 007. Admittedly, it’s probably a tough one to replicate in a lifestyle simulator, but Twitter user @SkyhawkJD found an inventive way to pay tribute to the all-time classic.
Instead of trying to recreate the game on their island, they’ve taken the introduction scene from the N64 game and replaced all of the familiar faces with Animal Crossing avatars. Apart from the iconic gun barrel sequence at the very beginning, which is a tad cheesy, the rest of it is as close as it gets to the real thing:

As you can see, all the characters you would expect are in there – James Bond, Natalya, the main villains, and even classic ones like Jaws, May Day, and Oddjob. For the sake of comparison, here’s what the original 1997 opening sequence looks like:
