I can't imagine if a Minecraft 2 will ever exist. We've done a lot of research. Without a doubt, we are the studio of Minecraft, and we have chosen to accept that. But, over time, we've come to realize how flexible Minecraft really is… We've always been passionate about making more than one game, but we never wanted to do a sequel. We're much more interested in taking that spark of creativity and applying it to other genres within the Minecraft universe.
