Following the rumor a few days ago that Nintendo plans to bring some of Mario's top titles to Switch this year to mark the character's 35th anniversary. Well, a new rumor has provided more information.
This time a source from the NintendoLife media has shared that, along with titles such as Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo will bring to Nintendo Switch Online some of the most forgotten adventures of the 90's plumber
These are the data that has been shared:
- The following titles will be launched in the SNES app: Mario is Missing! Mario’s Time Machine Y Hotel Mario (released on Philips CD-i).
- Nintendo is working on a new title that collects elements from all these games, in a current title called New Super Mario Bros. is Missing! + Bowser’s Minions HD Remix.
- Finally, it is believed that Nintendo will dust off previously unreleased CD-i titles Mario Wacky Worlds
The NintendoLife source, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared the following:
Nintendo has found that consistently providing quality Mario games has made the series a bit stale and tiresome. So he's decided to dig up hidden gems from Mario's past to balance things out and cheer them up. Those old enough to remember these "games" will be delighted with the immersive educational entertainment, while the younger gamers will marvel at an alternate story of what Mario might have been.
However, as always, we remind you that nothing has been confirmed and therefore this news should be treated as what it is, a rumor. There will be no choice but to have patience and wait until Nintendo officially confirms its plans for the 35th anniversary of its most emblematic character.
