Nintendo is still in the process of filling out the Switch's release schedule for 2025, and as we already know, it will be reviving several older titles as part of this strategy – starting with the Wii and 3DS release of Donkey Kong Country Returns in January.
He also recently announced that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is coming back, so what else could be re-released next year? According to a new rumor shared 'Nate the Hate' on his podcastNintendo will look back on 2016's Pink Puff's Kirby: Planet Robobot for 3DS – with a Switch port expected sometime next year.
Here's exactly what he had to say, and we'll note – he sounds pretty confident:
“A game that is one of my personal favorites will come to Nintendo Switch in 2025. And that title is Kirby: Planet Robobot.
“It's a fantastic game, one of the best 3DS games ever released, and it's the type of title I think Nintendo can continue to use as a complement to the Switch in 2025…”
Nate has been linked to various other Switch rumors this generation, including Game Boy support for Switch Online and most recently its “successor” system supporting backwards compatibility. Please note that this is just a rumor.
When Planet Robobot was originally released for the 3DS, we gave it an “excellent” nine out of ten stars. Kirby's last outing on the Nintendo Switch was Return to Dream Land Deluxe 2023, which was a remake of the 2011 Wii action platformer.
