A background update on the Rockstar Games website, as revealed by Rockstar’s leaker Tez2 on X, revealed that the company appears to have plans for GTA+ to come to the Nintendo Switch. Since the public can’t access that version of the site, Tez2 shared screenshots as proof:
GTA+ is a subscription service that offers mem bers free access to a “rotating assortment” of Rockstar games, along with in-game bonuses for Grand Theft Auto V’s online mode – GTA Online. While the games in the current lineup, LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition are all available on Switch, the absence of GTA V would result in Switch players being denied a key benefit of the service.
Some theories suggest that GTA V could be headed to the Switch, or that Nintendo’s handheld heavyweight simply lacks the GTA Online bonuses that come with GTA+. If the latter ends up being the case, it could be harder for Switch subscribers to justify their purchase – assuming it costs the same as on other platforms (£6.99 / $7.99 / $7.99). A single subscription plan for the Switch, with a slightly lower price, may not be completely ruled out, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
