There seems to be a juicy new rumor making the rounds, which, if true, could be incredibly exciting and quite surprising at the same time. Exputer is reporting from its sources that Bandai Namco and Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft are working together on a remake of the GameCube game Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean on Nintendo Switch with Nintendo overseeing the project. We’ve already heard that Bandai Namco is working on a Nintendo game from one of their job listings on their official website. Bandai Namco has also ported the game to Summer 2021 here in Europe. As always, this news is currently clearly labeled as a rumor and no official announcement has been made by any of the aforementioned studios.
“However, now sources have confirmed that the first Baten Kaitos game is getting a remake exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. eXputer has seen graphical proof of the title in development, but is unable to share any of it publicly at this time.”
“Sources also said that the release date of this remake is planned for sometime in the summer of 2023 and that the reveal is possible during this year’s E3.”
“What’s more, the original game developer Monolith Studio — a company owned by Nintendo — is working on the remake along with Bandai Namco. In addition, Nintendo is involved in the new remake and will work with the two developers to oversee the development of the title.”
