It’s a new year and there are certainly new rumors already popping up about what games might be available to Nintendo users in the future.

The latest story making the rounds suggests that Microsoft’s “highly praised” and well-received game from fans will be released on a “competing system” in calendar year 2024. This claim comes from the head of ‘Nate the Hate Podcast‘, which goes on to mention that the same title was in the “game of the year conversation” during the year of its release.

“In calendar year 2024, Microsoft will bring one of its most acclaimed first-party releases to the competing system… When the announcement comes, I think it will be met with great excitement, because this is a quality game.”

The source uses Obsidian’s narrative adventure Repentance as an example of how Xbox has done all it can with select games within its ecosystem, and the next steps are porting these titles to other platforms to help build an audience for possible sequels exclusively for Microsoft devices.

Some suggests a conversation elsewhere online exclusive could be Tango Gameworks’ rhythm-based action title Hi-Fi RUSH, which was overshadowed on Xbox early last year and nominated for multiple Game of the Year awards. A user on ResetEra, known for sharing past Xbox-related leaks, also reportedly backed up the idea that it was this game. Of course, there could be other games that fit the description, and nothing is official at the moment.

Over the past year, Xbox has reiterated its commitment to other platforms, including an agreement to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo systems. Microsoft also worked with Nintendo to bring games like GoldenEye 007 to the Switch.
