It’s been 10 years since Ubisoft originally released Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Since then, the game has been released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and even Nintendo Switch. Additionally, video game companies were very interested in remakes and remakes of older titles. So perhaps it was only a matter of time before an Assassin’s Creed game received similar treatment.
Well, it looks like that time may be coming soon. Kotaku has learned from “two sources familiar with the plans who wished to remain unnamed because they were not authorized to discuss them” that Ubisoft is currently in the early stages of remaking Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. It’s not expected to be released for “at least a few years,” and Ubisoft Singapore is heavily involved in the development of the remake. Kotaku reached out to Ubisoft, but a spokesperson declined to comment.
