Summer showcase season has passed and while there have been plenty of fantastic new game announcements and updates, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been missing in action with developer Team Cherry not even commenting in about two years. But there’s nothing to worry about, at least according to a game tester, because the game is “not in dev hell” (thanks, GamesRadar!).
Graig, who was previously referred to as the “head questioner” on Silksong, took to Discord to share an update with fans on Silksong. In a short message on Discord, he states, “Hi guys, I literally know you’re not in dev hell.”
It’s worth noting that Graig is not part of the development team, so it remains to be seen if his comments are accurate. But this answer is the best we’ll get for now.
Graig also sympathized with many frustrated by Team Cherry’s lack of comments, saying (via GamesRadar ) that “communication should be better.” But the official Silksong subreddit has been desperate for news for a long time, and many have expected it to appear after not showing up at every event since Xbox’s 2022 Summer Showcase.
However, reactions to his post on Discord weren’t exactly warm, with many dismissing his claim due to previous pranks and fun he had with the community. In fact, although Graig was already associated with the Cherry team, there is no telling how accurate that statement is. For now, we just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope he’s right.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Silksong is the long-awaited sequel to Hollow Knight, 2017’s hand-drawn Metroidvania that became a critical favorite. The game first launched on PC before coming to Switch in 2018. Silksong was announced in 2019 — originally as DLC for the first game, but eventually as a full sequel. Game updates have been sporadic, to say the least.
This year, however, new listings and ratings for the game have been spotted in various countries. So that the cry and despair reached incandescence.
