It looks like the public has now taken matters into their own hands, having been unveiled by the Scoash World Tour 2020 with a solid $ 250,000 prize team already confirmed. Designed for the people behind VGBootCamp and Super Smash Con, this new round of competition will feature events around the world as players compete to gain points in the finals.

During the Platinum, Gold and Silver competitions, players can earn points at public events around the world. By the end of the year, competitors who will compete for more points will be sent to SWT championships (December 17-20), with more than $ 250,000 included in the lineup!
Players can earn points at both the largest Smash events in the world and their local churches – our aim is that the Smash World Tour promotes growth at all levels of the event!
While the competition has nothing to do with Nintendo, its developers "hope to work with them in the future". They said, "One of our goals with the Tour is to provide a unified Nintendo system to directly support a competitive event". However, it's already partnered with Twitch and Smash.gg.
