Some developers from AlphaDream are involved in Mario & Luigi Brotherhood

AlphaDream, Brotherhood, developers, involved, Luigi, Mario

The Mario and Luigi series is getting a new entry on November 7th, which is amazing news for fans who thought the series would never see the light of day again. Even better news, however, is Nintendo’s comments to Game File confirming that the studio behind every other entry in the series, AlphaDream, will play a role in the project.

“Some of the original developers who worked on the franchise are involved in the development of Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood. For more information about the developers, please follow the game credits after publication.”

From Superstar Saga to Paper Jam, AlphaDream oversaw what many will always consider Mario’s best RPG spinoff series. Despite closing its doors due to bankruptcy in 2020, the studio now seems to live on thanks to its staff and the series they made successful. However, no information has been released about the developers involved, and the exact capacity of their involvement is just another mystery. Are they practical or just for quality assurance?

Not to mention the biggest mystery surrounding the game: who makes it? As we reported on the 22nd, Twitter user Lizardy claims ILCA is the prime suspect. While they promised evidence, they also mentioned that they would take the news with a “grain of salt,” potentially taking us back to square one. If the developer of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is indeed the captain of the ship, then this would be only their second full project for Nintendo. Then again, if the remains of the AlphaDream are part of the crew, be it ILCA or someone else at the helm, the Brotheship’s voyage will certainly be generous.
