Now that the Summer Game Fest Play Days are underway, it’s time for attendees to play the available games and for developers to participate in interviews. For example, Sonic Team leader Takashi Iizuka was interviewed by IGN earlier today to discuss Sonic X Shadow Generations. Only a few questions were asked, but one of them was regarding future remasters of the Sonic the Hedgehog games.
Iizuka said that after the release of Sonic Colors Ultimate, “we kind of wanted to think about what we could bring next as a remastered title. At the time, Sonic Generations was something that everyone was really excited (about), which really wanted, and they were really hungry. That’s why we decided to do Sonic Generations and we added the Shadow Generations part.”
However, that’s not all he had to say. Iizuka concluded by saying that “depending on what people like, if there’s a title that people like, we’ll consider it for the next remaster”. No title was specifically mentioned, but IGN’s live audience was very vocal about the next Sonic Unleashed remaster. You can watch the video of the interview in its entirety below.
