Sega has revealed that all physical pre-orders for Sonic X Shadow Generations will receive a reversible cover, allowing you to change the western design to Japanese.
Sharing the discovery further x, the announcement comes with a short video showing what the different covers will look like. You’re probably already familiar with the Western design: it features Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, and Shadow, all looking suitably badass in the background of what we assume is one of Shadow’s levels. Meanwhile, the Japanese version emphasizes the obvious rivalry between Sonic and Shadow, showing the two hedgehogs in a sort of yin-and-yang juxtaposition.
It’s cool, but we wish Shadow wasn’t upside down.
That’s a neat little bonus for those who decide to pre-order at least the physical edition. The game starts on Switch on October 25, 2024 and will feature a remake of the original Sonic Generations while introducing some brand new levels starring Shadow the Hedgehog.
We went hands-on with the game during Summer Game Fest and came away relatively optimistic, though admittedly skeptical about how the game would hold up on Nintendo’s console. If you want to check out our full thoughts on the demo, head over to the link below.
