There seems to be news affecting Sony’s gaming division, PlayStation, as we learned today. Jim Ryanformer CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainmenthas officially left his position and now there is news in the company.
These are the changes:
- Hideaki Nishino will be named CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Platforms Business Group.
- Hermen Hulst will be named CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s studio business group.
- The appointments will be effective June 1, 2024.
- Hiroki Totoki, current interim CEO of Interactive Entertainment, will assume the role of president of Interactive Entertainment.
- Totoki will also continue to serve as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Group Corporation.
- Nishino and Hulst will report to Totoki and work closely to strengthen each core business and maximize synergies across Interactive Entertainment.
This news comes to us after recent layoffs and adjustments at Sony. These layoffs followed similar restructurings at Microsoft or Embracer Group in recent months.
