Something that indie gamers have been looking forward to is the Nintendo Switch releases of Spelunky 1 and Spelunky 2. They were both revealed to be coming to the Switch last year, and the release was slated for “summer 2021”. Unfortunately, there has been silence ever since. A sizable portion of the summer is done, and even with an Indie World presentation taking place yesterday, Spelunky Switch news has not been happening.
Well, as of today, that is no longer the case. Mossmouth has announced that both Spelunky 1 and Spelunky 2 are coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on August 26th. The release date applies to North America, Europe and Australia. As for other regions, they confirmed that they “will be announced soon”. The official tweet is down below.
