Traditional sports events have taken an overwhelming blow with the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, causing eyes to focus on e-sports as an alternative. However, unfortunately many of them also require face-to-face activity.
It is for this reason that the Nippon Professional Besball has decided to cancel the Splatoon 2 eSport series along with its other competitive series that were to take place next month and would be broadcast on different streaming channels. It is a measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among players and spectators.
It should be noted that although these series have been canceled (not delayed), they may return at some point in the future, after overcoming the pandemic. However, the company has not stated about its future intentions with the IP of Nintendo.
