Square Enix has been very supportive of the Nintendo Switch, although there is one catch. The company has released many games, but some of them, especially the Kingdom Hearts games, have been released as Cloud versions. Even so, with the Switch on the way out and a new console on the horizon, there have been some questions about what Square Enix will be up to in the future.
Well, that’s no longer the case. Square Enix has released a new mid-term business plan for the company’s future plans for the next 3 years. The plan has 4 pillars. One of those pillars is called “strengthening customer touch points,” where the company plans to “aggressively pursue a multi-platform strategy that includes Nintendo platforms, PlayStation, Xbox and PC.”
According to Square Enix, the reason they’re doing this is because they want to “build an environment where more customers can enjoy our titles over major franchises and AAA titles, including catalog titles.” They also want to “move from quantity to quality” so that more players can enjoy their games.
