Along with the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake release date (November 14) is fast approaching, Square Enix is doing everything they can to keep our hype levels sky high. And it works.
Today, the publisher revealed the full cast of characters for all nine professions you can recruit into your party (plus the hero class, obviously). There’s a fully illustrated design and sprite model for each, so you can check out all the details before seeing how each class will look on screen.
Of course, the important addition this time around is the brand new ‘Monster Wrangler’ class, which will make its debut in DQIII. Those who have played Dragon Quest VI or Dragon Quest X may notice the title’s similarities with Monster Masterclasswith Wranglers allowing allies to “combat with a range of monstrous abilities,” according to Square Enix’s official description.

Hero
A class reserved for the protagonist only. The hero class is well balanced with abilities ranging from physical attacks, magic and recovery spells.
Warrior
The Warrior class are your big attackers. Capable of wielding powerful weapons and powerful armor, these guys can deal (and take) damage like the best of them.
Martial artist
Fast strikers with great strength and agility.
M.Sc
High intelligence and magical power make mages capable of dangerous offensive spells and soothing recovery spells.
A priest
Your true healer for restoring health and removing conditions.
Trader
While fairly average in battles, the merchant class is best for research, collecting extra gold for your party after battle, and evaluating items for free.
Gadabout
A wildcard class that has a lot of luck but runs the risk of not cooperating in combat.
Thief
The Thief class has a decent arsenal of weapons and high agility, which makes up for its average attack stat. He is also capable of taking items from enemies after combat.
Wrangler monsters
A class that learns a monster’s attacks before using them in battle. Along with this combat prowess, Monster Wranglers can support allies with healing abilities.
Sage
A rare class that boasts high MP and HP, making it the strongest wizard in the world.
