Farming and lifestyle simulation Stardew Valley is about to get a major update, and if you’ve been wondering about the status of the progress, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has now shared a new update.
IN short message on social networks, the developer mentioned that he had finally finished adding “major new content” and was focused on fixing bugs and polishing it until it was ready to go. He also can’t wait for everyone to try it out when it arrives.
“1.6 ended up being a bit larger in scope than originally planned. I’ve now finished adding a lot of new content to it, and it’s in the process of being fixed and polished until it’s ready for release. Thank you for your patience. It’ll be fun to see how everyone plays it!”
And if you’re still worried about whether or not it’s coming out this year, don’t worry—it’s “absolutely” coming this year, according to Barone. He confirmed this in a subsequent reply to a fan. As for how big it will be compared to the previous update, here’s what he had to say:
“It’s hard to compare, because 1.5 is all about the big NEW area, while 1.6 is about adding more to the old stuff in the game, with lots of little things”
When this version of the game finally arrives, it will come with a new “grand festival”, two new mini-festivals, new late-game content, new items, crafting recipes, winter clothes for villagers, a new type of farm, new secrets and more .
