Publisher Bushiroad has revealed a brand new action RPG, coming to Switch in Japan in 2023, with the game being developed by Story of Seasons and Rune Factory producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto.

Reported Nintendo Everything (over it Famitsu) the new game is called Rear Sekaiand was teased earlier today at the Bushiroad New Year Grand Presentation 2023. At the same presentation, Bushiroad established its brand new label, Bushiroad Games, which will be focused on expanding into console game publishing, while announcing other Switch games such as title based on Shojo Kageki Revue Starlight, Insight into Macross Shooting, Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer: Nightmare Feastand Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – The Quest for Memories.

We know very little about Rear Sekai at this point, other than the pedigree that runs on it — and RPG fans will recognize some of these names. The work on the game’s main theme is legendary Stories series composer Motoi Sakuraba, with art by Samurai Warriors 5 artist Shia Nanahara and Rune Factory series character designer Minako Iwasaki, who recently worked on Rune Factory 5.

Yoshifumi Hashimoto is known for working as a producer on titles such as Rune Factory 4 (as a writer), Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, Riviera: The Promised Land on the GBA as a script writer, and Vanillaware’s Metroidvania Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the Wii.

Other than that, all we have to go is a teaser, a few character designs and a ‘2023’ date. The game is also only confirmed for a Japanese release, but we’ve already seen some of the publisher’s mobile titles here in the west — such as Love live! Festival of school idols.

Check out the teaser trailer (which is all in Japanese) below, and tell us what you want to see from this new action RPG (farming? raising a family?) in the comments!
