Ah, Super Mario Odyssey. It's one of those games that we don't get to think about often, but when we do, Yeah does it bring back fond memories.
As you will know if you played it yourself, this game is packed with stand times that help you become one of Mario's finest. One of these times is the final boss battle and, of course, the final sequence – if you were to guess, you'll want to look away now if you d on't want any spoiler
As part of your final viewing with Bowser himself, the player needs to capture him using Cappy and escape his damaged environment by crashing through everything you see. A special special moment, but a speed one miiwii912 managed to find a way to skip this part of the game.
You can see it happening in tow below; like Bowser, miiwii912 discovers what appears to be hidden platforms on the outside of 2D (you will need to install this with a pipe end and work your way up). Using these hidden platforms, they are able to completely avoid the full 2D part of our hero escapades.
With previous findings finding that you can also skip 2D parts elsewhere with very specific jumps – such as those in Cascade and the Sand Kingdoms – miiwii912 says that you can now beat the whole game without having to foot it in 2D. We're not sure why you would want to do that – we think it's so good – and yet, that's an interesting fact.
We suddenly have the desire to play in all 3D Mario games. It is possible those rumored memories will be coming in a lot later this year!
