If you're your top arcade developer, Super Pixel Racers it looks like it might be worth a go if it is introduced to the switch on later this week.
With 2D pixel graphics and a 16-bit soundtrack that is sure to bring back memories of the good old days, the Super Pixel Racers have players taking various forms of racing. You can use any of the winnings you make to buy new cars with their individual driving qualities and upgrade the schemes. The purpose here is to try out different cars and find a style that best suits your style of play.
Here's a look at the racing styles you can expect to enjoy, along with some useful features:
- Rally Cross: Classic race against 7 other drivers
- Rally: Access checkpoints on a track that was released out of the process
- Land Lease: Be at the front of the pack when time runs out
- Takedown: Dispose of other cars
- Hunt: Spit the target down
- Drift Show: Score points by driving down
- Thirteen different Racetracks: From desert dunes to city streets. Plenty of different pixel locations set the stage for really great pixel racing.
- Alone where you grow up, put in some Nitro: The more you drag, the more nitro gauge you get. Use it for faster speeds; equally useful in preventing obstacles or beating opponents.
- Vehicle Damage & Blasting Machines: Car collisions have resulted in significant damage to your pixel racer. If a car takes too many hits, it goes up in flames!
The game will be launched on switch on this Thursday, April 16th. You can pick it up for $ 14.99 / £ 11.69, although a 10% discount is available if you grab it on the eShop before launch.
