You may recall that a few months ago, Microsoft’s Xbox team announced that it was shutting down multiple studios. One of them was Tango Gameworks, the development studio behind Hi-Fi Rush. It was the latest in a series of unfortunate layoffs and closures that have plagued the video game industry this year.
Well, we have good news to share. Krafton, which is the publisher of the game PUBG: Battlegrounds, has announced that it has acquired the company and the Hi-Fi Rush IP. Krafton says that not only do they want the team to continue supporting the IP, they even want Tango Gameworks to “explore future projects.” This will not affect games that have already been released, including Hi-Fi Rush, and will continue to be available where they are currently available.
